Remembering You
By
W. L. Stephens
Tonight I went for a ride,
With my sister and her
friend.
I enjoyed every minute,
Although my thoughts were
blue,
For the soft summer breeze,
Blowin’ through the trees,
Made me remember you.
Through the darkness of the
nite,
We rode through the park.
There were many happy
couples,
Strollin’ in the dew.
And before I could control
them,
The teardrops were a
flowin’,
For I was remembering you.
The orchestra was wonderful,
The crowd was very gay.
I was trying to be happy,
But when I heard the tune,
“Somebody Else is Taking
My Place,”
I had to turn away my face,
For I was remembering you.
