IF I WERE

If I were a hockey puck

I’d use my wits to keep me out of trouble.

If they’d try to hit me with a racket, I’d use a double.

Wait! I have the wrong game.

If they’d try dangling me at the end of a line,

I’d twist and turn to let them know this is a crime.

Wait! I have the wrong game.

When I’d see that big guys foot aiming for me,

I’d squirm and wiggle to get free.

Wait! I have the wrong game.

If that tall guy tried to throw me into the hoop,

I’d flip over and over doing the loop.

Wait! I have the wrong game.

I know! I’m on the ice and here he comes,

He hits me with his long stick.

I go sailing across the floor, than up into a net.

I bounce back and here comes two guys trying to hit me at once.

OH, PLEASE, PLEASE! Let me be

Something else besides a hockey puck!!!
