Put the name you wish to use for copyright purposes in the upperleft corner of the first page, followed by your email address, or snail mail address if you are sending your submission by snail mail. The copyright symbol is created by holding down the ALT Key and entering 0169, then releasing. Electronic submission is preferred.
Come down two spaces and enter the approximate word count of your submission. The figure given using tools, word count, will be adequate.
Come down to approximately the center of the page and enter the title of your submission and your byline. This will be the same name as the copyright owner unless you prefer to use a pseudonym
For prose submissions, double-space the entire document, beginning on the fourth line below the byline. For poetry, single space stanzas but double-space between stanzas. Allow a minimum of one inch for top, bottom, left, and right margins. Editors frequently use this space to scribble notes.
Begin subsequent pages with a header, such as:
The Color of Sunrise - by Henry A. Writer, page 2
You may need only one or two pages for your submission, or you may need a dozen or more. Numbering each page makes it easier for the editors to refer to a page and paragraph should changes or corrections be required. There is no need to prepare a separate cover page or end page for your submission.
Submissions are preferred as RTF (rich text format) documents which can be created and saved using most word processing applications. RTF documents can easily be converted to web pages for posting online, and are easily converted to eBooks for Palm, MS Reader, or stand alone eBooks. See the page regarding downloads for further information. eBooks created by Oasis Writers' Guild may be freely downloaded by anyone. They are not to be sold! Please feel free to download and save your eBook, and share it with as many persons as you like.
